Should Steroids be Illegal in Sports?

This is a question that has raised many complaints in the sport world. On one hand you have the people who say no and do not want steroid use because it is "unnatural." Then you have those who say that it is okay and the players decision what to do with their body. But steroids do more than hurt your body and make muscle building "unnatural," They can in some instances change the sport itself.

In the mid 90's, there was a huge spike in home runs.most year before that had build up to 4,000 home runs and it flat lined. All of a sudden in 1996 it spiked to just below 5,000. Since they put the steroid policy into effect they have seen a decline in home runs back to the 4,000 mark. Wierd.

Barry Bonds isn't accepted as the new home run king by some. I am one of them. How could such a skinny young player turn into a huge hulk that fast? Now he might be in some legal trouble because of lying in court.
Steroid will change your apperance drastically. If you are a male you will develop some female symptoms. You will produce less semen and have a worse chance of having kids, develop breasts, and redution in the genital region. Women in the other hand will develop more male characteristics. They will develop masculine characteristics. They grow hair in unnatural areas, have unnatural periods, and reduced breast size. Also another possibility is that they can reduce your life span.

  1. I totally agree that steroid use is unnatural and should be completely illegal in sports. Barry Bonds doesn't deserve such a great record. USA track star Marion Jones lost 3 Olympic gold medals and 2 bronze medals for her use of steroids. True athletes should not need to use drugs to enhance their performance, they are ruining themselves and the validity of the sport they play.
